The Hunter

I found you in the Himalayan mountains
At the end of nineteen hours on the go
You were there at 30,000 feet last autumn
But the day my grandma died you didn’t show

I caught you one morning on a tube train
But when I looked around, you we’re gone
You were there the night I was delivered
Although you didn’t stay for very long

There were times when I didn’t want to find you
When there were better things I had to do
But I could never put it off for too long
And soon my thoughts would drift away with you

I’m looking for you even in this moment
But If I try too hard you get away
And every time so far that I have seen you
I have had my eyes closed anyway

Ballet No 9

Ballet No9 from Matthew Barton on Vimeo.

These aren't my feet

These aren’t my feet
The ones I had were standing next to you
These are those
Cheap feet
With broken toes

These aren’t my hands
The ones I had were holding hands with you
Not quite right
But perfectly
Holding tight

These aren’t my eyes
The ones I had were lost inside your own
I’m here
I’m still here
Alone

These aren’t my words
The words I had I whispered in your ear
This is just
How shit I feel
Since we broke up

This is my soul
The same one that I tried to share with you
I’ll be ok
I’ll try again
I’ll be ok

Bed

I am falling through my bed
Because i am tall
And the bed is lazy
It just won't push anymore
It's all the time trying to drown me
Instead
With the sheet
From underneath
I'll probably just open the window instead
I'm like that.
